Anti-Ms CD138, 281-2, AZ, 100µg

This APC-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies is specific for mouse CD138 (Syndecan-1). Clone 281-2 is a rat IgG2a, kappa antibody raised against the mouse NMuMG mammary gland epithelial cell line, reacting with an extracellular epitope on the core protein of CD138, a ~60 - 100 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein.

CD138 is expressed on the surface of pre-B cells, immature B cells, and normal and malignant plasma cells, but not mature circulating B cells. It is also expressed on non-hematopoietic cells such as embryonic mesenchymal, endothelial, epithelial, and neural cells. The antigen is thought to act primarily as a receptor that modulates cell proliferation, migration, and cell-matrix associations by linking the extracellular matrix to the cytoskeleton, and its heparin sulfate and chondroitin sulfate moieties associate with several proteins including collagens, fibronectin, tenascin, thrombospondin and certain cytokines. The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry and for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, with a suggested use of ≤ 0.5 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume. The product is supplied at 0.2 mg/mL in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide, purified by affinity chromatography, and is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted; do not freeze and protect from prolonged exposure to light.
