Description

This PE-conjugated rat monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies is reactive with mouse, human, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, and rabbit CD11b (also known as alphaM integrin, C3biR, CR3, Ly-40, Mac-1, or Mo1), an ~170 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein that associates non-covalently with CD18 to form the heterodimeric Mac-1 receptor.

Through its interactions with ligands such as ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-4 (CD242), iC3b, and fibrinogen, Mac-1 functions in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium and in the phagocytosis of complement-coated particles. CD11b is expressed on the surface of granulocytes, monocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, tissue macrophages, and subsets of T and B cells, and has been used as a marker to distinguish naïve and memory CD8+ T cells. The M1/70 clone, raised against C57BL/10 mouse splenocytes, reportedly blocks iC3b binding to Mac-1.

The reagent is supplied at 0.2 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin, purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions. It is supplied as a clear liquid and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The antibody has been verified for cell separation and flow cytometry (FC), and has been reported for FACS, FC, ICC, IF, and IHC applications. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.125 μg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 μL. The product should be stored at 2 - 8°C, protected from prolonged exposure to light and not frozen, and is stable until the expiry date on the label.
