Anti-Ms CD11b, M1/70, FI, 100µg

A FITC-conjugated rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets CD11b, an ~170 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein that associates non-covalently with CD18 to form the heterodimeric Mac-1 receptor. Through interactions with ligands including ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), ICAM-4 (CD242), iC3b, and fibrinogen, Mac-1 mediates the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium and the phagocytosis of complement-coated particles. CD11b is expressed on granulocytes, monocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, tissue macrophages, and subsets of T and B cells, and has been used as a marker to distinguish naïve and memory CD8+ T cells; it is a relatively late marker for myeloid differentiation.

The reagent (clone M1/70; isotype IgG2b, kappa) was raised against C57BL/10 mouse splenocytes and reportedly blocks iC3b binding to Mac-1. It is reactive with human, mouse, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, and rabbit samples. Flow cytometry is a verified application, with additional reported uses in FACS, immunofluorescence microscopy, and immunohistochemistry. The antibody clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Mouse Monocyte Isolation Kit.

Supplied as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin, the conjugate is free of unconjugated FITC. It is stable at 2 – 8°C when stored undiluted; the product should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light, remaining stable until the expiry date on the label. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.5 μg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 μL, with titration recommended for optimal performance. According to the safety data sheet, the mixture is not classified as hazardous under GHS and is not regulated for transport.
