Anti-Ms CD117, ACK2, 500µg

This rat monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone ACK2, reacts with mouse CD117 (c-Kit), an approximately 145 kDa type 1 transmembrane receptor for c-Kit ligand (also known as stem cell factor or steel factor). CD117 is broadly expressed on hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow, including pluripotent and erythroid progenitor cells, B and T lymphocyte precursors, and mast cells. The receptor belongs to the tyrosine kinase receptor family and contains five immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains plus a cytoplasmic protein kinase domain. Binding of c-Kit ligand induces dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating intracellular signalling pathways important for the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. It has been reported that binding of the ACK2 antibody blocks the function of CD117.

The antibody was generated using mouse IL-3-dependent mast cells as immunogen and is of the IgG2b, kappa isotype. It has been verified for use in flow cytometry (FC) and is reported for functional assay (FA), immunocytochemistry (ICC), immunofluorescence microscopy (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunoprecipitation (IP), and Western blotting (WB). For flow cytometry applications, the suggested use is ≤ 0.06 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance for each application.

The product is supplied as a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and is purified by affinity chromatography. It is stable when stored undiluted at 2 - 8°C and should not be frozen. The antibody is intended for research use only.
