Anti-Ms CD117, 2B8, FI, 50µg

This anti-mouse CD117 antibody, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, is a rat monoclonal antibody (clone 2B8) of the IgG2b, kappa isotype that targets CD117 (c-Kit), an approximately 145 kDa type I transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor for c-Kit ligand (also known as stem cell factor or steel factor). The receptor is broadly expressed on hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow, including pluripotent and erythroid progenitor cells and B and T lymphocyte precursors, as well as on mast cells. CD117 possesses five immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains and a cytoplasmic protein kinase domain; binding of c-Kit ligand induces receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating intracellular signaling pathways that drive proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. Signaling is further modulated by phosphatases and by rapid endocytosis and degradation of the receptor.

The 2B8 clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Mouse Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Enrichment Kit, and is suitable for cell separation, flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. Available conjugations include Alexa Fluor 488, APC, biotin, FITC, PE, and unconjugated formats. The reagent is reactive against mouse (Gene ID 16590) and is categorized under stem cell biology research. The 2B8 antibody does not block binding of c-Kit ligand, and mutations in CD117 have been associated with multiple tumor types and with piebald trait, an autosomal dominant abnormality of pigmentation.
