Anti-Ms CD117, 2B8, BT, 50µg

This biotin-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets mouse CD117 (c-Kit), an ~145 kDa type I transmembrane receptor that belongs to the tyrosine kinase receptor family. The reagent, Clone 2B8, is a rat IgG2b, kappa antibody raised against mouse bone marrow mast cells. CD117 is broadly expressed on hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow, including pluripotent and erythroid progenitor cells and B and T lymphocyte precursors, as well as on mast cells. Binding of c-Kit ligand to CD117 induces receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating intracellular signalling pathways critical for the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells; the 2B8 antibody does not block binding of c-Kit ligand.

The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry and is reported for immunohistochemistry, and it has also been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep kits, including the EasySep Mouse Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Isolation Kit. It is supplied in phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide, was purified by affinity chromatography before biotin conjugation, and is free of unconjugated biotin. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.25 µg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 µL. The product is stable when stored undiluted at 2–8°C and should not be frozen.
