Anti-Hu CD90, 5E10, FI, 25tests

STEMCELL Technologies provides a mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody targeting human CD90 (Thy-1), conjugated to FITC. Clone 5E10 was generated using the human HEL erythroleukemia cell line as immunogen and has been verified for flow cytometry.

CD90 is a GPI-linked membrane glycoprotein, N-glycosylated at two sites to yield molecules in the 25–37 kDa range. It participates in signal transduction, cell adhesion and migration, neurite outgrowth, T cell activation, and tumor suppression, and acts as a known ligand of β2 and β3 integrins. The antigen is broadly expressed on human thymocytes, neurons, some glial cells, fibroblasts, activated endothelial cells, certain leukemia cell lines, and on a distinct subset (<1%) of CD3+CD4+ T cells in peripheral blood. CD90 is also found on small subsets of CD34+ cells in fetal liver, umbilical cord blood, bone marrow, and mobilized peripheral blood, and is recognized as an important marker for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. The reagent shows species reactivity with rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, pigtailed macaque, dog, and pig samples.

The antibody is purified by affinity chromatography and supplied in phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. It is stable at 2–8 °C when stored undiluted; the product should not be frozen and must be protected from prolonged exposure to light. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is 5 µL per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 µL, or per 100 µL of whole blood, with titration recommended for each application. The 5E10 clone has been verified for labeling human mesenchymal cells cultured in the MesenCult™ Proliferation Kit (Human). For research use only.
