Anti-Hu CD90, 5E10, FI, 100tests

A mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody conjugated to FITC, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies. The clone, 5E10, was raised against the human HEL erythroleukemia cell line and recognizes CD90 (Thy-1), also known as CDw90, Thy-1, and Thy1, a GPI-linked membrane glycoprotein that is N-glycosylated at two sites, giving rise to 25–37 kDa molecules (Gene ID 7070). The reagent is reactive with human, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, pigtailed macaque, dog, and pig samples.

CD90 has roles in signal transduction, cell adhesion and migration, neurite outgrowth, T cell activation, tumor suppression, and the inhibition of hematopoietic stem cell proliferation and differentiation. It is a known ligand of β2 and β3 integrins and upregulates synthesis of fibronectin, osteonectin, and thrombospondin. Expression is reported on human thymocytes, neurons, some glial cells, fibroblasts, activated endothelial cells, some leukemia cell lines, and a distinct subset (<1%) of CD3+CD4+ T cells in peripheral blood, as well as on small subsets of CD34+ cells in fetal liver, umbilical cord blood, bone marrow, and mobilized peripheral blood. CD90 is considered an important marker for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.

The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry (FC) and is recommended for labeling human mesenchymal cells grown in MesenCult, with a suggested use of 5 µL per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 µL. It is supplied as a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, purified by affinity chromatography and free of unconjugated FITC. The product is stable at 2–8°C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. STEMCELL Technologies' quality management system is certified to ISO 13485, and the reagent is not classified as hazardous according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).
