Description

A mouse monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone RPA-T8, conjugated with PerCP-Cy5.5 and directed against human CD8a (also known as Leu2 or T8). CD8a is described as a 32–34 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein that forms part of the disulfide-bonded CD8 dimer and acts as a co-receptor to the T-cell receptor by binding MHC class I molecules. The antibody is of the IgG1, kappa isotype, was raised against full-length human CD8 protein, and was conjugated under optimal conditions with the solution free of unconjugated dye.

Clone RPA-T8 reacts with CD8a on human, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, pigtailed macaque and sooty mangabey samples, and is verified and reported for flow cytometry. CD8a is expressed by a majority of thymocytes, a subset of mature peripheral blood cytotoxic T cells, and at lower levels by NK cells. The reagent is supplied as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin, and is intended for research use only.

For storage, the product is stable at 2–8 °C when kept undiluted; it should be protected from prolonged exposure to light and not frozen. For flow cytometry, the manufacturer recommends ≤ 5 µL (0.25 µg) per 1 × 10⁶ cells in 100 µL, with titration advised for optimal performance.
