Anti-Hu CD68, Y1/82A, AZ, 25tests

STEMCELL Technologies provides this Anti-Human CD68 Antibody, Clone Y1/82A, conjugated to APC, for use as a laboratory reagent. The Y1/82A clone reacts with human CD68, an approximately 110 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the sialomucin, LAMP and scavenger receptor families.

CD68 is highly expressed in lysosomes, endosomes and cytoplasmic granules, and more weakly on the surface of macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, basophils, dendritic cells and NK cells. It has also been detected in the cytoplasm of γ/δ T cells, LAK cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and in subsets of B cells and hematopoietic progenitors, and in non-hematopoietic tissues such as liver and kidney. The Y1/82A epitope is distinct from those recognised by clones Y2/131, EBM11, Ki-M6 and KP1, and the clone is reportedly more specific for monocytes and macrophages than KP1.

Recommended applications include flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation and Western blot. The reagent is supplied as a clear liquid that is stable under recommended transport and storage conditions, and is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. It is not regulated for transport by DOT, TDG, ICAO, IATA, IMDG, RID, ADR or ADN.
