Anti-Hu CD56 (NCAM), HCD56, FI, 100t

STEMCELL Technologies provides a FITC-conjugated mouse monoclonal antibody specific for human CD56, also referred to as Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule (NCAM) and by the alternative names Leu-19, N-CAM, NCAM-1, and NKH1. The reagent, generated using the HCD56 clone of the IgG1, kappa isotype, was raised against full-length human CD56 protein and purified by affinity chromatography under conditions that leave the final solution free of unconjugated FITC. It is formulated as a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin.

CD56 (NCAM) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and the prototypic cell surface marker on human NK cells; around 90% of NK cells express CD56 at low density while approximately 10% express it at relatively high levels. The antigen is also variably expressed on subsets of NK-T cells, neurons, muscle cells, certain stem cells, and in vitro-cultured T cell clones, as well as on tumors including myeloma, neuroblastoma, and small cell lung carcinoma. The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry and for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits.

For flow cytometry the suggested use is 5 μL per 1 × 10⁶ cells in 100 μL of volume or per 100 μL of whole blood. The product is stable at 2 - 8 °C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen; it should also be protected from prolonged exposure to light. The reagent is supplied for research use only and is not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic applications unless otherwise stated.
