Anti-Hu CD56 (NCAM), HCD56, BT, 25µg

This biotin-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone HCD56, targets human CD56 (NCAM), a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily containing five Ig-like domains and two fibronectin type-3 domains in its extracellular portion. The ~140 kDa isoform is considered the prototypic cell surface marker on human NK cells, with around 90% of NK cells expressing CD56 at low density and ~10% at relatively high levels.

CD56 is expressed by NK cells, NK-T cells, T cell clones, and several tumors, including myeloma, neuroblastoma and small cell lung carcinoma cells. The antigen mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion through homophilic and heterophilic interactions and has been implicated in activating intracellular signaling pathways. Clone HCD56 has been verified for flow cytometry and for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Human CD56 Positive Selection Kit and the EasySep™ Human NK Cell Enrichment Kit, where partial blocking may be observed.

Supplied as a mouse IgG1, kappa antibody, it is suited to applications including flow cytometry, CyTOF, and immunohistochemistry within immunology research.
