Anti-Hu CD56, HCD56, PE, 25tests

A PE-conjugated mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone HCD56, directed against human CD56 (NCAM). CD56 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily containing five Ig-like domains and two fibronectin type-3 domains in its extracellular portion, and exists in multiple isoforms including transmembrane and GPI-anchored forms. The approximately 140 kDa isoform of CD56 is considered the prototypic cell surface marker on human NK cells: around 90% of NK cells express CD56 at low density while around 10% express the protein at relatively high levels. CD56 is also variably expressed by a subset of NKT cells in peripheral blood, neurons, muscle cells, some stem cells, and in vitro-cultured T cell clones, and by several tumor types including myeloma, neuroblastoma, and small cell lung carcinoma cells.

The antibody was raised against full-length human CD56 protein in mouse hosts, purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody. It is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. Verified for flow cytometry, the suggested use is 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume or per 100 μL of whole blood, with titration recommended for optimal performance for each application. The HCD56 clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with several EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ HLA Buffy Coat CD56 Positive Selection Kit, EasySep™ Human CD56 Positive Selection Kit, EasySep™ HLA CD2 Positive Selection Kit, and EasySep™ Human NK Cell Enrichment Kit, where partial blocking may be observed.
