Anti-Hu CD56, HCD56, PE, 100tests

This PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone HCD56, is a mouse IgG1, kappa antibody raised against full-length human CD56 protein and validated for flow cytometry. CD56 (NCAM), a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is the prototypic ~140 kDa cell surface marker on human NK cells, with around 90% of NK cells expressing it at low density and ~10% at relatively high levels. It is also variably expressed by a subset of NKT cells in peripheral blood, neurons, muscle cells, some stem cells, in vitro-cultured T cell clones, and several types of tumors including myeloma, neuroblastoma, and small cell lung carcinoma cells. CD56 mediates cell–cell and cell–matrix adhesion via homophilic and heterophilic interactions and plays important roles in neuronal development.

The antibody has been purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody. It is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume or per 100 μL of whole blood, and titration is recommended for optimal performance. The product is stable at 2–8°C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. The clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, and is intended for research use only.
