Anti-Hu CD5, UCHT2, UC, 100µg

STEMCELL Technologies offers a mouse monoclonal antibody of the IgG1, kappa isotype, Clone UCHT2, directed against the human CD5 antigen. CD5 is an ~67 kDa single-chain type I glycoprotein and a member of the scavenger receptor superfamily.

The CD5 antigen is expressed on thymocytes, T cells, B cell subsets, peripheral blood dendritic cells, and on some leukemia and lymphoma cells, including chronic B lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) cells. It is expressed at low levels on thymocytes and at high density on mature T cells. Putative ligands include CD5L and CD72. CD5 modulates T and B cell receptor signaling, thymocyte maturation, and T cell/B cell interactions through its physical and functional associations with the T cell receptor/CD3 complex and the B-cell receptor. The UCHT2 clone binds to epitope 2 located in the extracellular domain of CD5.

The antibody is verified for use in flow cytometry and is also applicable to immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot. Available conjugations include APC, Biotin, FITC, PE, PerCP-Cy5.5, and unconjugated. Reactive species include humans as well as cynomolgus monkey, chimpanzee, common marmoset, owl monkey, rhesus monkey, and squirrel monkey. Research areas include immunology and stem cell biology.
