Anti-Hu CD5, UCHT2, FI, 25tests

This mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets the human CD5 antigen and is conjugated to FITC. The antibody, clone UCHT2, was raised in BALB/c mice using human thymocytes followed by Sézary T cells as immunogen, and binds to epitope 2 located in the extracellular domain of CD5.

CD5 is an ~67 kDa single-chain type I glycoprotein and member of the scavenger receptor superfamily. It is constitutively expressed on thymocytes, T cells, B cell subsets, peripheral blood dendritic cells, and on some leukemia and lymphoma cells, including chronic B lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) cells. Expression is low on thymocytes and high on mature T cells. Putative ligands include CD5L and CD72. The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry (FC) and reported for FC applications.

The reagent is supplied as a clear liquid in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, purified by affinity chromatography and free of unconjugated FITC. It is reactive with human, rhesus, cynomolgus, capuchin monkey, chimpanzee, common marmoset, and owl monkey samples. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume or per 100 μL of whole blood. The product is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen or exposed to prolonged light. According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, the mixture is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard or the Globally Harmonized System.
