Anti-Hu CD43, CD43-10G7, PE, 100t

A mouse monoclonal antibody specific for human CD43, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies. CD43 is a type I transmembrane sialoglycoprotein expressed on the surface of most human hematopoietic cells, including thymocytes, peripheral T cells, NK cells, monocytes, granulocytes, some B cells (activated B cells and an early B cell subset in bone marrow), plasma cells, and hematopoietic progenitor cells, with low expression levels observed on platelets. The molecule is also used as a marker for discriminating normal from neoplastic T cells and B cells within tissues.

The CD43-10G7 clone is of mouse IgG1, kappa isotype, was raised in BALB/c mice against the MV4-11 human myelomonocytic cell line, and is conjugated to PE. CD43 exhibits different glycoforms in the range of approximately 95 - 135 kDa, depending on cell type. It binds ligands such as CD54 and CD169 (Siglec-1) and plays regulatory roles in cell adhesion and activation, apoptosis, and tumor progression. Binding of the CD43-10G7 antibody to CD43 on neutrophils reportedly induces homotypic cell adhesion. Alternative names for CD43 include Leukocyte sialoglycoprotein, Leukosialin, Ly-48, Sialophorin, and W3/13.

The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry, and the clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ HLA Whole Blood B Cell Positive Selection Kit. It is supplied as a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and was purified by affinity chromatography prior to conjugation. The solution is free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody. The product is stable when stored undiluted at 2 - 8°C; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light.
