Anti-Hu CD41, HIP8, PE, 25tests

Mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody against human, rhesus, and cynomolgus CD41, conjugated to PE and supplied by STEMCELL Technologies. The HIP8 clone reacts with the ~125 kDa GPIIbα subunit of human CD41, a heterodimeric integrin expressed primarily on platelets, megakaryocytes, monocytes, and acute megakaryoblastic leukemia cells.

CD41 associates non-covalently with CD61 (integrin β3) in a calcium-dependent manner to form the CD41/CD61 (GPIIb/IIIa) complex, a receptor for several ligands including fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, vitronectin, plasminogen, thrombin, and thrombospondin. The HIP8 antibody has been reported to block platelet aggregation and to inhibit platelet activation by ADP, epinephrine, and collagen. Species reactivity extends to baboon, capuchin monkey, chimpanzee, and pig in addition to human, rhesus, and cynomolgus.

The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions. The formulation is a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. The verified application is flow cytometry, with a suggested use of ≤ 5 μL per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 μL or per 100 μL whole blood. Product should be stored at 2 - 8°C, protected from prolonged exposure to light, and not frozen.
