Anti-Hu CD40, 5C3, PE, 25tests

This PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets the human CD40 antigen (Gene ID: 958) and is produced in a mouse host as clone 5C3 of the IgG1, kappa isotype. According to the supplier documentation, CD40 is a 45 - 50 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNFR superfamily, involved in B cell development, germinal centre B cell selection, and T cell–B cell co-stimulation via engagement with the CD40 ligand CD154 (gp39).

The antibody is validated for flow cytometry, functional assays, and immunohistochemistry, and has been used to activate B cells and induce B cell proliferation in in vitro functional assays. It is reported to react with baboon, chimpanzee, cynomolgus monkey, rhesus macaque, and squirrel monkey samples, and to recognise CD40 expressed on B cells, follicular dendritic cells, macrophages, fibroblasts, keratinocytes, endothelial cells, basal epithelial cells, CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells, and primary carcinomas.
