Anti-Hu CD4, SK3, PE, 25tests

This PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets the human CD4 antigen and is supplied as a mouse IgG1, kappa reagent of clone SK3. It is verified for flow cytometry and is suggested for use at 5 µL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 µL, or per 100 µL of whole blood, with titration recommended for optimal performance in individual applications.

CD4 is described as an ~59 kDa single-chain type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, and the SK3 epitope has been mapped to the D3 extracellular Ig-like domain. According to STEMCELL Technologies, the antibody reacts with CD4 from human, rhesus, cynomolgus, African green monkey, olive baboon, pigtailed macaque, sooty mangabey, and squirrel monkey sources, and binding of SK3 has been shown to block HIV attachment and to inhibit the mixed lymphocyte reaction.

The product is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and the antibody is purified by affinity chromatography before conjugation with PE. STEMCELL Technologies recommends storing the product undiluted at 2-8°C, protected from prolonged light exposure and without freezing.
