Anti-Hu CD38, HIT2, BT, 100µg

STEMCELL Technologies supplies this mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody, biotin-conjugated, which targets the human CD38 antigen through clone HIT2. The antibody was raised against human fetal thymocytes and has been reported to cross-react with chimpanzee and horse.

CD38 is an ~45 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein that functions as an ectoenzyme (ADP-ribosyl hydrolase) with both cyclase and hydrolase activities, mediating lymphocyte activation, adhesion, and metabolism. It is expressed by the majority of human hematopoietic cells, with levels varying according to differentiation and activation status, and it is highly expressed on activated T cells, activated B cells, and plasma cells. CD38 is also found at high levels in several tissues, including brain, kidney, liver, ovary, pancreas, placenta, testis, and certain cancerous tissues. CD31 is a known ligand for the receptor.

The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry (FC) and reported for FC and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and clone HIT2 may be used in flow cytometry and cell isolation workflows. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.5 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, and titration is recommended for each application. The product is supplied as a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide, and the antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with biotin under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated biotin. The product is stable at 2 - 8 °C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen. According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under the GHS, it is supplied as a clear liquid, and it is intended for research use only.
