Anti-Hu CD38, HIT2, AZ, 100tests

This monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone HIT2, targets CD38, a type II transmembrane glycoprotein (~45 kDa) that is expressed by a majority of hematopoietic cells. It is conjugated to an AZ fluorescent label and is optimized for flow cytometry detection of CD38-positive populations. CD38 functions as an ectoenzyme (ADP-ribosyl hydrolase) with both cyclase and hydrolase activities, mediating lymphocyte activation, adhesion, and metabolism; CD31 is a known ligand for this receptor.

Produced in mouse, the antibody is of the IgG1, kappa isotype and is also suited for cell isolation. CD38 is highly expressed on activated T and B cells and plasma cells, and is found at high levels in brain, kidney, liver, ovary, pancreas, placenta, testis, and in some types of cancerous tissue. Reactive species include human, chimpanzee, and horse.

The product is supplied for research use only and should be stored at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Titration is recommended to establish optimal staining conditions, with appropriate controls. Documented applications include cell isolation, CyTOF, flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot, within the research areas of immunology and stem cell biology.
