Description

STEMCELL Technologies supplies a mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody, clone HIT2, conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488 and reactive with CD38 from human, chimpanzee, and horse. The antibody was raised against human fetal thymocytes and recognizes an ~45 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein, also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase or T10, that is broadly expressed on hematopoietic cells, especially leukocytes. CD38 is an ectoenzyme (ADP-ribosyl hydrolase) with both cyclase and hydrolase activities and contributes to lymphocyte activation, adhesion, and metabolism; CD31 is described as a known ligand for the receptor.

The reagent is provided as a clear liquid in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. The antibody is purified by affinity chromatography, conjugated with Alexa Fluor® 488 under optimal conditions, and the solution is free of unconjugated dye. Flow cytometry is the verified application, with a suggested use of 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL or per 100 μL of whole blood; titration is recommended for optimal performance. According to the manufacturer, clone HIT2 is also suitable for cell isolation. The product is stable at 2 - 8 °C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen or exposed to prolonged light.
