Anti-Hu CD34, 581, BT, 25µg

This biotin-conjugated mouse monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies (clone 581, IgG1 kappa) targets human CD34, an approximately 105–120 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein. The antibody is supplied at 0.5 mg/mL in a phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, and has been purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with biotin under optimal conditions, with the solution reported free of unconjugated biotin.

CD34 is expressed on the surface of most human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), as well as on mesenchymal stem cells, embryonic fibroblasts, endothelial cells, neurons, and some tumor cell lines. Because CD34 is expressed only transiently during hematopoiesis, the frequency of CD34+ cells is reported as approximately 1–5% in bone marrow or cord blood and approximately 0.1–0.5% in peripheral blood. Clone 581 recognizes a class III CD34 epitope that is resistant to neuraminidase and O-glycoprotease, and CD34 is described as a marker used to identify and isolate HSPCs capable of cell engraftment.

The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry, for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits including the EasySep™ Human CD34 Positive Selection Kit, and for labeling human mesenchymal cells grown in MesenCult™ Proliferation Kit (Human). For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 1.0 μg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 μL. The product is stable at 2–8 °C when stored undiluted, should not be frozen, and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light.
