Anti-Hu CD33, P67.6, PE, 100tests

Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this PE-conjugated mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa reagent (clone P67.6) reacts with human CD33, also designated gp67, p67, or Siglec-3, a 67 kDa type I transmembrane sialoadhesin protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily (Gene ID 945). The antibody was generated in BALB/c mice immunized with FMY9S5 cells expressing the CD33 gene, and was purified by affinity chromatography before conjugation.

CD33 is expressed on committed myeloid progenitor cells, monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells, mast cells, resident macrophages, and subsets of B cells and activated T and NK cells. In peripheral blood, it is expressed at high levels on monocytes and at lower levels on granulocytes. It functions as a sialic acid-dependent cell adhesion molecule that mediates protein-glycan and protein-protein interactions between cells, and is a major marker used to differentiate myeloid from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias.

Verified applications are flow cytometry. The suggested use is 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume or per 100 μL of whole blood, with titration recommended for optimal performance. The reagent is supplied in phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and should be stored at 2 - 8°C, protected from prolonged light exposure and not frozen.
