Anti-Hu CD33, HIM3-4, FI, 100tests

This mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, is conjugated to FITC and is verified for use in flow cytometry. Clone HIM3-4 recognizes CD33 (Siglec-3; gene ID 945), an approximately 67 - 75 kDa type I transmembrane sialoadhesion protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The antibody reacts with human and chimpanzee CD33 and is reported to bind the extracellular C2 Ig domain of the molecule without blocking subsequent binding by clones P67.6, WM53, or WM54. Notably, HIM3-4 is one of the clones that recognizes both identified CD33 isoforms, CD33M and CD33m.

CD33 is expressed on committed myeloid progenitor cells, monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells, mast cells, resident macrophages, and subsets of B cells and activated T and NK cells, and is a major marker used to differentiate myeloid from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias. In peripheral blood it is expressed at high levels on monocytes and at lower levels on granulocytes. Listed applications include flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
