Description

STEMCELL Technologies offers this mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody (Clone BC96) conjugated with Alexa Fluor® 488, raised against CD25 protein of human origin. CD25 is a 55 kDa type I integral transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as the low-affinity receptor for Interleukin-2 (IL-2), also known as the IL-2 Receptor alpha chain (IL-2Ra, Tac, p55). The antibody reacts with human, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, and pig-tailed macaque CD25 (Gene ID: 3559).

CD25 is involved in the activation and proliferation of lymphocytes and is present on activated T and B cells, monocytes, macrophages, and regulatory T cells. Co-expression of CD25 with CD4 and FOXP3 is considered a phenotypic signature for regulatory T cells, and the marker is useful in identifying T cell subsets in viral infections such as HIV and HTLV. CD25 associates with IL-2 receptor β (CD122) and common γ (CD132) chains to form a high-affinity IL-2 receptor. The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry (FC) analysis of CD25 antigen expression on cultured human T cells activated with ImmunoCult™ Human CD3/CD28 T Cell Activator and ImmunoCult™ Human CD3/CD28/CD2 T Cell Activator.

The product is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) BSA, and was purified by affinity chromatography prior to conjugation. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume, with titration recommended for optimal performance. The antibody is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. This product is for research use only and is not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic uses.
