Anti-Hu CD235ab, HIR2, AZ, 100µg

Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this mouse monoclonal IgG2b, kappa antibody targets human CD235ab, also known as Glycophorin A/B. The clone, designated HIR2 (GA-R2), recognizes an epitope common to the N-terminal region of human CD235a (glycophorin A) and CD235b (glycophorin B), which are homologous type I sialoglycoproteins of the erythrocyte (red blood cell) membrane that bear the antigenic determinants for the MN and Ss blood groups. CD235ab is expressed on early- and late-stage erythroblasts, mature erythrocytes, and erythroid cell lines such as K562 and HEL, but not on other cell types. CD235a is abundantly expressed whereas CD235b is a relatively minor membrane component, and the HIR2 clone binds with higher affinity to CD235a than CD235b, while agglutinating untreated erythrocytes.

The antibody is APC-conjugated and has been verified for purity assessment of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Human Glycophorin A Depletion Kit. It is recommended for flow cytometry applications, with a suggested use of ≤ 0.15 µg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 µL volume. The product is formulated as a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide, and was purified by affinity chromatography before conjugation with APC. It should be stored at 2 - 8°C without freezing and protected from prolonged exposure to light. The antibody presents as a clear liquid and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture.
