Anti-Hu CD2, RPA-2.10, PR, 100tests

A mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone RPA-2.10, conjugated to PerCP (Peridinin chlorophyll protein complex), directed against human CD2 (alternative names: LFA-2, SRBC-R, T11). The reagent is generated using human CD2 recombinant protein as immunogen and has been verified for flow cytometry (FC), with reported uses including FACS, ICC, IF, IHC, and functional/blocking assays. The clone has been shown to block the mixed lymphocyte reaction.

CD2 is an approximately 50 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, with two Ig-like domains in its extracellular portion. It is broadly expressed on peripheral T cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, erythrocytes, most thymic T cells, subsets of thymic B cells, and on endothelium, with expression appearing early during T cell differentiation. Aberrant expression has been observed in some lymphomas and myeloid leukemias. CD2 plays a critical role in T cell activation and signaling, as well as lymphocyte adhesion; its primary ligand is CD58 (LFA-3), with additional ligands including CD15 (SSEA-1), CD48, and CD59. Reported species reactivity includes human, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, capuchin monkey, pigtailed macaque, squirrel monkey, and pig.

The antibody is purified by affinity chromatography and supplied in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, 0.1% gelatin, and less than 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin; the solution is free of unconjugated PerCP. Product is stable at 2–8°C when stored undiluted; do not freeze and protect from prolonged exposure to light. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.125 µg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 µL, and titration for optimal performance is recommended.
