Anti-Hu CD2, RPA-2.10, PE, 25tests

STEMCELL Technologies offers this PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody targeting the human CD2 antigen. Clone RPA-2.10 is a mouse IgG1, kappa antibody raised against human CD2 recombinant protein. It recognises CD2 (also known as LFA-2, SRBC-R, or T11), an approximately 50 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains in its extracellular portion.

CD2 is broadly expressed on peripheral T and NK cells, dendritic cells, erythrocytes, most thymic T cells, subsets of thymic B cells, and on the endothelium, with expression appearing early during T cell differentiation; aberrant expression has been observed in some lymphomas and myeloid leukemias. The antigen is critically important for T cell activation and signalling, as well as lymphocyte adhesion, with the primary ligand being CD58 (LFA-3) on antigen-presenting cells and additional ligands comprising CD15 (SSEA-1), CD48, and CD59. Notably, the RPA-2.10 antibody blocks the mixed lymphocyte reaction.

The antibody has been verified for cell separation (CellSep) and flow cytometry, and is suitable for assessing the purity of cells isolated with EasySep kits. It cross-reacts with human, rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, capuchin monkey, pigtailed macaque, squirrel monkey, and pig samples. The reagent is supplied in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, 0.1% gelatin, and less than 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and was purified by affinity chromatography prior to PE conjugation under optimal conditions. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.125 µg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 µL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance. Store undiluted at 2 - 8°C; do not freeze and protect from prolonged exposure to light.
