Anti-Hu CD2, RPA-2.10, AZ, 500tests

A mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies that binds human CD2, an approximately 50 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily whose extracellular portion contains two Ig-like domains. The reagent is conjugated with APC (Allophycocyanin), supplied as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, 0.1% gelatin, and less than 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and purified by affinity chromatography. The solution is free of unconjugated APC and unconjugated antibody.

Raised against human CD2 recombinant protein (clone RPA-2.10), the antibody recognizes CD2, also known as LFA-2, SRBC-R, and T11 (Gene ID 914), and has been verified for reactivity with Human, Rhesus, Cynomolgus, Baboon, Chimpanzee, Capuchin Monkey, Pigtailed Macaque, Squirrel Monkey, and Pig samples. CD2 is broadly expressed on peripheral T and NK cells, dendritic cells, erythrocytes, most thymic T cells, subsets of thymic B cells, and on the endothelium, with aberrant expression observed in some lymphomas and myeloid leukemias. The primary ligand for CD2 is CD58 (LFA-3), with additional ligands comprising CD15 (SSEA-1), CD48, and CD59, and the clone notably blocks the mixed lymphocyte reaction.

The antibody is verified for flow cytometry, with a suggested use of ≤ 0.03 µg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 µL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance in each application. The clone has also been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits. The product is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light, and remains stable until the expiry date on the label.
