Anti-Hu CD2, RPA-2.10, AZ, 25tests

This mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone RPA-2.10, is conjugated to allophycocyanin (APC) and targets human CD2 (also known as LFA-2, SRBC-R, or T11). The reagent was raised against human CD2 recombinant protein, purified by affinity chromatography, and supplied at 6 µg/mL (5 µL per test, equivalent to 0.03 µg per test). It cross-reacts with rhesus, cynomolgus, baboon, chimpanzee, capuchin monkey, pigtailed macaque, squirrel monkey, and pig CD2.

CD2 is an approximately 50 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, with two Ig-like domains in its extracellular portion. It is broadly expressed on peripheral T and NK cells, dendritic cells, erythrocytes, most thymic T cells, subsets of thymic B cells, and on the endothelium, and appears early during T cell differentiation. CD2 plays a critical role in T cell activation and lymphocyte adhesion, with CD58 (LFA-3) as its primary ligand and CD15 (SSEA-1), CD48, and CD59 as additional ligands. Aberrant expression has been observed in some lymphomas and myeloid leukemias. The RPA-2.10 clone is reported to block the mixed lymphocyte reaction and has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits.

The antibody is formulated in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide, 0.1% gelatin, and less than 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and is supplied as a clear liquid. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.03 µg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 µL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance. The product is stable at 2 – 8 °C when stored undiluted; it should be protected from prolonged exposure to light and must not be frozen.
