Anti-Hu CD14, M5E2, BT, 100µg

A biotin-conjugated mouse monoclonal antibody (Clone M5E2, IgG2a kappa) from STEMCELL Technologies targets human CD14, an ~53 - 55 kDa GPI-anchored transmembrane glycoprotein also known as the LPS receptor. CD14 is expressed at high levels on peripheral blood monocytes and macrophages, at lower levels on granulocytes, and on tissue macrophages, Langerhans cells and dendritic cells; two soluble forms (~48 and ~55 kDa) have also been described. An ~10-fold expression difference between monocytes/macrophages and granulocytes makes CD14 a useful marker for distinguishing these populations.

This clone has been verified for flow cytometry and reported for immunohistochemistry. It cross-reacts with human, rhesus, cynomolgus, chimpanzee, capuchin monkey, common marmoset, cotton-topped tamarin, pigtailed macaque, squirrel monkey, cow, dog, pig and sheep samples. For flow cytometry, the manufacturer suggests ≤ 2 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, with titration recommended for optimal performance in each application.

The antibody is purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with biotin under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated biotin. It is supplied in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide. Store undiluted at 2 - 8°C; do not freeze.
