Anti-Hu CD14, M5E2, AZ, 25tests

STEMCELL Technologies offers a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody for research use, designed to recognize CD14, a GPI-anchored transmembrane glycoprotein of approximately 53 - 55 kDa. The M5E2 clone reacts with CD14 from human, rhesus, and cynomolgus sources. CD14 is expressed at high levels on peripheral blood monocytes and macrophages and at lower levels on granulocytes, with an approximately 10-fold difference in expression between these populations. The marker is also present on tissue macrophages, Langerhans cells, and dendritic cells, where it functions as a high-affinity receptor for complexes of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and serum LPS-binding protein, modulating LPS-dependent signal transduction during the immune response.

Conjugated to APC, the antibody is suited to flow cytometry applications and serves as a useful marker for distinguishing monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes. According to the manufacturer's safety documentation, the reagent appears as a clear liquid and is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. It is stable under normal conditions and is intended for research use only, not for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic applications unless otherwise stated.
