Anti-Hu CD105, 43A3, FI, 100tests

A FITC-conjugated mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, raised against human and mouse CD105 (endoglin). The 43A3 clone was generated using L-cells transfected with human CD105 as the immunogen, and the reagent is purified by affinity chromatography and supplied free of unconjugated FITC.

CD105 is an approximately 180 kDa cell surface glycoprotein that forms a disulfide-bonded homodimer of approximately 90 kDa type I transmembrane subunits. It is a component of the TGF-β receptor complex and binds TGF-β1 and TGF-β3 with high affinity, while not binding TGF-β2; other reported ligands include Activin A, BMP2, and BMP7. The protein is expressed by vascular endothelial smooth muscle cells, syncytiotrophoblasts of the placenta, activated macrophages, and at relatively low levels by stromal fibroblasts. Expression is also observed in some tumor types and is upregulated on the endothelium during angiogenesis. CD105 has roles in angiogenesis, cardiovascular development, and vascular remodeling, and certain mutations in the protein are associated with the autosomal dominant disorder hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

The product is presented as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. It is verified for flow cytometry, with a suggested use of ≤ 5 µL per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 µL, and the clone has also been verified for labeling human mesenchymal cells grown in the MesenCult Proliferation Kit. The antibody is stable at 2–8 °C when stored undiluted; the product should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light.
