Description

This Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated monoclonal antibody, manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, is clone 43A3 raised in mouse (IgG1, kappa isotype). It recognizes CD105 (endoglin), an ~180 kDa cell surface glycoprotein that forms a disulfide-bonded homodimer of ~90 kDa type I transmembrane subunits, and reacts with human and mouse samples.

CD105 is a component of the TGF-β receptor complex expressed by vascular endothelial smooth muscle cells, syncytiotrophoblasts of the placenta and activated macrophages, and at relatively low levels by stromal fibroblasts. The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry (FC) and is reported for immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). The clone has been verified for labeling human mesenchymal cells grown in MesenCult™ Proliferation Kit (Human) and MesenCult™-XF Medium. CD105 binds TGF-β1 and TGF-β3 with high affinity but does not bind TGF-β2, and has important roles in angiogenesis, cardiovascular development and vascular remodeling.

The reagent is supplied as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and was purified by affinity chromatography. It is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 2.0 μg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume, with titration recommended for optimal performance in each application. The product is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
