Description

A mouse monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody (clone 43A3) specific for human CD105 (endoglin), unconjugated and manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies. The antibody reacts with CD105 (endoglin), an ~180 kDa cell surface glycoprotein that exists as a disulfide-bonded homodimer of ~90 kDa type I transmembrane subunits and forms part of the TGF-β receptor complex.

CD105 is expressed by vascular endothelial smooth muscle cells, syncytiotrophoblasts of the placenta and activated macrophages, and at relatively low levels by stromal fibroblasts, and serves as an endothelial and mesenchymal marker. Expression is also observed in some types of tumors and is up-regulated on the endothelium during angiogenesis. The protein binds TGF-β1 and TGF-β3 with high affinity but does not bind TGF-β2; other reported ligands include Activin A, BMP-2 and BMP-7. CD105 plays roles in angiogenesis, cardiovascular development and vascular remodeling, and certain mutations are associated with the autosomal dominant disorder hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

Species reactivity includes human and mouse. The antibody has been verified for flow cytometry (FC) and is reported for FC, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunoprecipitation (IP) and Western blotting (WB). It has been verified for labeling human mesenchymal cells grown in MesenCult™ Proliferation Kit (Human). The product is supplied as a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide, and was purified by affinity chromatography. Store undiluted at 2 - 8°C; do not freeze. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 2 µg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 µL, with titration recommended for optimal performance. For research use only.
