Anti-GFAP, Poly, UC, 200µL

A rabbit polyclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies that recognizes glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), an approximately 55 kDa type III intermediate filament protein. GFAP serves as a differentiation marker for astrocytes and is localized in normal central nervous system tissue as well as in certain glial tumors and metastases.

This unconjugated reagent reacts with human, mouse, rat, and cat GFAP and is suitable for immunofluorescent labeling of cultured mammalian cells. Verified applications include immunohistochemistry (IHC) and western blotting (WB); additional applications reported in the literature include immunocytochemistry (ICC) and immunofluorescence microscopy (IF). The manufacturer's suggested use is IHC at a 1:80–1:400 dilution and WB at a 1:500 dilution, with titration recommended for optimal performance in each application.

The product is supplied as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 15 mM sodium azide and is purified by column chromatography. It is stable at 2–8 °C for one month when stored undiluted; for longer-term storage it should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C, and thawed aliquots should not be re-frozen. The product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and is intended for research use only.
