VCP Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the sensitive and accurate detection of VCP (valosin-containing protein) levels in cell lysates and tissue samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method measured at 450 nm, is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and is suitable for use with adherent cells.

Provided as a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput format, the kit is used to measure the relative amounts of VCP in cultured cells and to screen for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on VCP. Qualitative determination of VCP concentration is achieved by an indirect ELISA format, in which VCP-specific primary antibodies capture the target while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

To support reliable normalization, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density. The dynamic range is > 5000 Cells, with storage at 4°C and a stability of 6 Months. VCP is a key protein involved in protein degradation, DNA repair, and cell cycle regulation, and its dysregulation has been linked to neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, and autoimmune diseases.
