Description

The VAV2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a cell-based ELISA designed to detect VAV2 protein expression profiles in cultured cells. The kit uses a lysate-free, indirect ELISA format in which VAV2-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, enabling qualitative determination of VAV2 concentration.

Reactive with human and mouse samples, the kit has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm, and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format intended for storage at 4°C for 6 months. It is suitable for adherent cells and can be used to measure relative VAV2 levels as well as to screen for the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on VAV2. Two normalization methods are included: a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

VAV2 is a proto-oncogenic guanine nucleotide exchange factor of the Dbl family, acting as a GEF for the Rho family of GTP binding proteins and expressed in most tissues. It is involved in cell signaling pathways controlling cell migration, adhesion, and proliferation, with dysregulation linked to cancer, immune disorders, and neurological conditions. The human gene maps to chromosomal location 9q34.2 (Gene ID: 7410, UniProt ID: P52735), and the protein has a reported molecular weight of 97,032 Da. This kit is associated with cardiovascular research applications.
