Description

Assay Genie's cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative detection of phosphorylated VASP (vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein) at the Ser157 site in cultured adherent cell samples. Using a lysate-free, indirect ELISA format, the kit detects its target through primary antibodies specific for VASP (Phospho-Ser157) and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm. The kit can be used to measure relative levels of phosphorylated VASP in cultured cells and to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors, or activators on VASP phosphorylation.

Reactivity covers Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to normalize absorbance values to cell density.

Phosphorylation of VASP at Ser157 plays a role in regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics, cell migration, and cell adhesion. Dysregulation of this phosphorylation event has been implicated in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders.
