TUSC2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the detection of TUSC2 protein expression in cultured cells. The qualitative, indirect ELISA format uses TUSC2-specific primary antibodies followed by HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyse a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density after the colorimetric measurement, so that absorbance values can be normalised to cell amounts.

The kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay intended for measuring the relative amounts of TUSC2 in cultured cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (e.g. siRNA or chemicals), or activators on TUSC2. It is run on a 96-well microplate format, is reactive with human and mouse samples, has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, and is intended for storage at 4 °C with a stability of 6 months. The target, TUSC2 (tumor suppressor candidate 2; Gene ID 11334, UniProt ID O75896), maps to chromosomal region 3p21.3 and has a reported molecular weight of 110 kDa; according to its UniProt entry it may function as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting colony formation, causing G1 arrest and inducing apoptosis.
