Trk B Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the detection and relative quantitation of Trk B protein in cultured cells. The assay uses a colorimetric readout at 450 nm in a 96-Well Microplate format, with reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples and a stated dynamic range of > 5000 cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is used to normalize absorbance to cell density.

The workflow is lysate-free and indirect: target protein is captured by Trk B-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is intended for measuring relative Trk B expression in adherent cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on Trk B levels.

Trk B (encoded by NTRK2, Gene ID 4915, UniProt Q16620) is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Trk family that binds brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin-3, -4, and -5, and is involved in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.
