Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based colorimetric immunoassay is designed to quantify TRIM38 protein levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which TRIM38-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, read at 450 nm. The kit is described as lysate-free and high-throughput, suited to measuring the relative amounts of TRIM38 in cultured cells and to screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) and activators.

TRIM38 is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins, with documented roles in immune response, cell signalling and viral defence, and specific involvement in inflammation, autophagy and innate immune response pathways. The assay is reactive with human and mouse samples, has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format intended for storage at 4°C with a stated 6-month stability. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control to normalise target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is provided to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

Detection is qualitative, and the kit is positioned for immunology research, including studies of inflammation, autophagy and immune response-related disorders, and for work aimed at developing potential therapeutics targeting TRIM38.
