Description

This colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the qualitative detection of TIP60 protein expression in cultured adherent cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which TIP60 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The dynamic range is > 5000 Cells, with absorbance measured at 450 nm.

TIP60, also known as HIV-1 Tat-interacting protein 60 kDa, is a histone acetyl transferase of the MYST family encoded by the KAT5 gene (Gene ID: 10524; UniProt ID: Q92993). It plays roles in chromatin remodeling, transcription, DNA repair and apoptosis, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer, neurological disorders and viral infections. The kit is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and is intended for use within developmental biology research.

A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The kit supports high-throughput screening for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) and activators on TIP60 expression.
