TIE2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of TIE2 (TEK) protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm and an indirect ELISA format in which TIE2-specific primary antibodies are captured and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

The kit is reactive with human and mouse samples and has a dynamic range of more than 5,000 cells. It is intended for adherent cell sample types. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalization, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is provided to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be normalized to cell amounts. The kit can be used to measure relative TIE2 levels in cell lysates or tissue homogenates and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors, or activators on TIE2 expression.

TIE2 (also known as TEK) is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Tie family that serves as the receptor for angiopoietin 1 and is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells, playing a critical role in angiogenesis and endothelial cell-smooth muscle cell communication. The kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format and is stored at 4°C with a stability of 6 months.
