Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for qualitative detection of transcription factor TF3B in cultured cells. The assay uses a colorimetric readout at 450 nm in an indirect ELISA format, in which TF3B-specific primary antibodies are captured and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Lysate-free and suited to high-throughput work on adherent cells, the kit has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and is reactive with human and mouse samples. Two normalization strategies are built in: a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody serves as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is used to account for plating differences by determining cell density. The kit is intended for measuring relative TF3B amounts in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on TF3B. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months.

TF3B (gene symbol GTF3B; also referred to as BRF1) is a general activator of RNA polymerase III, with a reported molecular weight of 47,978 Da. The target sits within the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area, and the assay is run on a 96-well microplate format.
