Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the detection and quantification of TEBP (Telomere End-Binding Protein) phosphorylated at serine 113 in cell lysates. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format, in which TEBP (Phospho-Ser113) is captured by phospho-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyse a colorimetric reaction. Readout is performed at 450 nm, and the procedure is compatible with adherent cells.

The kit is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and is suitable for cell populations of greater than 5000 cells. It allows relative quantification of TEBP phosphorylation and expression in cultured cells, and can be used to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors, or activators on TEBP phosphorylation. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided to determine cell density after the colorimetric measurement.

TEBP, encoded by the PTGES3 gene (Gene ID: 10728; UniProt ID: Q15185), functions as a molecular chaperone involved in telomere maintenance and in the conversion of prostaglandin endoperoxide H2 to prostaglandin E2, acting as an Hsp90 co-chaperone.
