Description

This Cell-Based ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the qualitative detection of TBX1 protein expression in cultured cells, including adherent cells. The kit targets TBX1, a transcription factor that plays a vital role in embryonic development—particularly in the formation of the heart and the thymus—and whose dysregulation has been linked to congenital disorders such as DiGeorge Syndrome.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method measured at 450 nm and an indirect ELISA format in which TBX1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies binding the Fc region of the primary antibody. The kit is reactive with human samples and accommodates a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

TBX1 (Gene ID: 6899; UniProt ID: O43435) is a DNA-binding transcription factor located at chromosomal position 22q11.21, with reported molecular functions including DNA binding, protein dimerization activity, and sequence-specific DNA binding. The kit is suitable for measuring relative TBX1 levels in cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on TBX1 expression.
