Tau (Phospho-Ser396)Fluorometric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Designed for monitoring Tau phosphorylation and expression profiles in cultured cells, this Assay Genie lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive cell-based ELISA uses an indirect ELISA format. Phospho-Tau (Ser396) is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, while Dye 1- and Dye 2-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, producing a fluorometric readout at Ex/Em of 651/667 and 495/521.

Two normalization strategies are built in. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody serves as an internal positive control for normalizing target RFU values, and a second antibody against the non-phosphorylated counterpart of Tau is provided so that the RFU for phosphorylated Tau can be normalized to the RFU for total Tau. The assay is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, and is stored at 4 °C with a stability of 6 Months.

Microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) regulates microtubule assembly and stability and is involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. Mutations in this gene are linked to several neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy.
